Mallary was one of my son's nurses during several stays on the HemOnc Unit. She not only took exceptional care of this young boy, but also ensured his parents were well-cared for, too. After a recent stay, it became evident that Mallary's care extended to our quality of life when we got home. She knew we were going home with a prescription to continue our antibiotics and adjusted the administration of antibiotics in the hospital to permit a schedule more conducive to our family's routine. I know that this adjustment took forethought and planning to make it happen. The last time we were here, she and my son were happily chatting away. She works hard to build trust with her patients and the families. We are grateful for her continued care, expressed whenever she is aware we are on the floor. Nurses like her and her colleagues on the unit eliminate anxiety about an admission. Thank you for treating us like family.

These qualities are validated by Mallary's Director when she stated, "If you were to ask any of Mallary's peers, she would be described as an experienced pediatric nurse who is the epitome of a team player! She consistently goes above and beyond to support the needs of our patients, families, and staff. Mallary is confident and efficient in her care and is not afraid to speak up if a question or concern arises. She has a true passion for the HemOnc patient population and this is evident in the compassion that she provides to our patients on a consistent basis. Mallary is a rock star and we are very fortunate to have her here!"
