My daughter was admitted from ER due to a broken arm. Mandy was her nurse after 7 am. My daughter was in excruciating pain. Mandy explained that Dilaudid wears off quickly, more so than oral pain meds. She advocated to get my daughter's pain under control. She kept us informed of her communication with the Hospitalist. She came into the room frequently to report any and all changes being made. Until her shift ended, we received excellent care! During my daughter’s times of her worst pain, Mandy gave helpful instructions on breathing to relieve her pain. When Mandy's shift ended, she introduced her replacement to ensure similar care could be expected.
