The scary (actually terrifying) experience was turned into a beautiful blessing that flowed forth in a way we never would have dreamed of.
My sister and I were staying with our dad for the first night he was going to be coming home in hospice. Truthfully, we were scared – thinking of medicating him, seeing him in pain, worrying if we could keep him comfortable and whether we could handle it or not. Maranna was in the house when we arrived with our other family members. She had everything ready and prepared. She made the transition as smooth as possible (all the forms were ready for my sister to sign.) She explained the medications, and what to expect, and showed us the proper way to do what was needed.
She did it with love, simple words we could understand, and professionalism. She gave us peace and more importantly, she gave our dad peace. She talked to him while getting him comfortable and doing what she needed to put him at ease. She was tender and loving which was so comforting for us and Dad. There were no words to describe what she did for us and the family. No words can fit the appreciation we feel in our hearts and souls. The scary (actually terrifying) experience was turned into a beautiful blessing that flowed forth in a way we never would have dreamed of. We are so thankful and that will last forever in our minds and hearts. Thank you for the opportunity to express what Maranna gave us during such a difficult time. She was our rainbow during a storm.
Thank you for the hospice program. What a beautiful gift for families going through a life-changing experience.

Maranna is one of the most helpful, caring, and compassionate nurses. Every day she came with the most pleasant smile even when she was tired from long hours. She always had a bit of a special wit about her and every day gave me as the caregiver new ideas and helpful things to make my life easier. Always with a special “sermon” and nudge to take care of myself and call her.
