Marc always provides kind and compassionate care. He always goes the extra mile to ensure our patients and their families are well cared for. On this specific evening, we ended our day with 3 or 4 patients still in holding recovering. As it turns out, 2 of the 3 patients were from assisted living and required transport back to their home. Marc had to make several phone calls for each patient as the day transport team was no longer on and the night crew was giving him the run-around.
Marc remained persistent in making sure both of these patients were safely taken back home. In between phone calls, Marc diligently checked groins and vitals. When it was all said and done, Marc called to report to inform the other caregivers of what was done, what to expect, and how to manage. He helped the patients get dressed, loaded them up in their wheelchairs, and wheeled them out with the transporting company. Marc did the right thing by ensuring everything was lined up appropriately and everyone was well informed.
Another example is Marc performing CPR on a patient status post-V-fib arrest during PCI. Marc provided this patient with perfusion for 1 minute. He didn't break a sweat, he handled it with such grace because it is the right thing to do. Wow! He never missed a beat. Marc truly is an unsung hero in the Cath Lab. His diligence and attention to detail in every situation saves lives and makes our department the best department in the hospital.
