Margaret Krus has put much dedication to the care, compassion, advocacy, and patience it takes to be an Oncology Nurse. Knowing Margaret, she would hate me for saying how long she has worked on our floor and, to be honest, I'm not even sure of the exact number of years. (And If I asked her, she wouldn't tell me!) But she has worked here at Martin with our cancer patients for a long time, and our Oncology Unit wouldn't be the same without her.
When Margaret approaches me with a problem or concern involving one of her patients, she approaches calmly, and with a big grin she softly states, "I have a problem". However, when Margaret approaches you like that, you go check on that patient because she is spot-on with her assessment of her patients. She recently renewed her OCN certification; renewing this certification proves her dedication to keeping up with her oncology education and practice so she knows she is providing the best possible care to her patients.
I want her to know how much she has touched this Oncology Unit with her smile, her goofy humor, her knowledge, and above all, the care she provides each and every one of her patients here at Martin, every day.
