My son was born prematurely at 23 weeks. I would like to nominate his primary nurse, Margie Araujo, for the DAISY Award and want to thank all the NICU team (nurses, doctors, and all NICU staff) that are God's hands working on Earth. They do extraordinary work with these tiny babies, putting all their love and compassion into doing an outstanding job. They work so hard with all their knowledge but mostly with all their love to save my son's life. Even without that much viability, they fought for him, and he responded to all the procedures. Through it all, Margie and all the NICU team were there, working tirelessly and diligently, helping my son and us to understand issues and consequences. She patiently explained things to us, sometimes more than once, until we got it. That's why the NICU team is like family to us.
