Maria consistently demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience with her telemetry patients and fellow care team members. These qualities were put on display in a recent interaction with one of our shared patients in which Maria presented to the patient's bedside to help them get cleaned up prior to getting out of bed for Physical Therapy. The patient had been held in the ED for several days before being transferred upstairs. Maria went out of her way to make sure that the patient was clean before PT and again immediately following PT. Maria was an active listener to the patient's concerns about her medical treatment and ensured that all of the patient's concerns were addressed. Maria was able to turn the patient's attention towards her improving medical condition and healing. Maria has a way of making her colleagues feel supported and valued; I so appreciate the ways that she takes the initiative to anticipate the needs of other care team members and goes above beyond at bedside.
