Marianne is a mentor to all the nurses on the unit. She goes out of her way to explain and review new policies. Marianne is a patient advocate and dedicated to giving patients the best experience possible. Time and time again when there is a difficult situation with a patient, Marianne is constantly able to help the patient and find a resolution. By the time the patient leaves the clinic, they are beyond grateful for the help and assistance she has provided them. Marianne sets an example for the nurses and staff. She listens and tries to find a creative solution to any situation. In the internal medicine clinic, we have a policy in place where we do not turn patients away no matter what reason they have for walking into the clinic. This policy was put into place due to Marianne's passion for advocacy for the patients. This way, we are able to find a solution to any of the problem that the patients walk in with or help find someone who can help them. If it was not for Marianne this would not be possible. I am very fortunate to be working with Marianne and to have her as my direct manager. She embodies the nursing tenets with her strong passion for the wonderful work that she does.
