Whether it was during a feeding or a fussy night or having trouble going to sleep, she was his advocate when we couldn’t be there with him. I couldn’t ask for a better nurse to leave my child at night.
Our family is very thankful for this nurse. Our child has been in the NICU for many weeks and still counting. This has had to be one of the hardest times for us as parents. Shortly after our child was born we unfortunately had to bring him to the ER. What we thought would be a short visit became a long journey. After weeks of testing and treatment, everything started to get overwhelming. It was hard seeing our baby sick and not being able to do anything for him. This is a situation no one is prepared for. We were very exhausted and were nervous to leave our child in case anything took a turn for the worse. We would be up for hours and hours with very little rest. Everyone would tell us to leave and get some rest that our child would be ok. The night we came into the NICU and met our baby’s nurse changed everything for us.
She helped us get our first family meeting with all our child’s doctors to help us get a better understanding of his situation and what his plan was. Each time she took care of our child she would always go above and beyond to care and comfort him. She gave us peace of mind to know our child would always be safe with her if we needed to step away to get some rest or be with our other kids for a while. She was always very thorough and had so much patience when explaining things to us and making sure we understood everything. She learned our baby and has so much patience with him. Whether it was during a feeding or a fussy night or having trouble going to sleep, she was his advocate when we couldn’t be there with him. I couldn’t ask for a better nurse to leave my child at night. Our family will always be very, very thankful for her and we will always remember everything she does for us and our baby. Although our child is still currently in the NICU, fighting each day to get better, we are blessed to have her be part of his journey to getting home.
