Being in the hospital is not ones' favorite place to be. Unfortunately, my husband has had a number of those occasions. Therefore, he and I recognize exceptional care when it's given and happily received.
It wasn't simply coincidental when he learned his first name and his nurses' were exactly the same, including the spelling. That was their initial bond. In addition, she was born in Germany which was where he was stationed in the Military. After over fifty years, he still speaks German fluently. I imagine his joy when they conversed in German. He loved it! Happy Memories.
Obviously, this happen stance does not qualify automatically as extraordinary care. However, it created a most comforting atmosphere and a virtually unexpected surprise.
What does qualify, was the truly genuine care she gave, as if he was her own. She was incredibly patient and completely attentive, always with a smile on her face and in her voice. He seemingly could do no wrong, even when there were some questionable moments that would have tested anyone else. She never wavered.
How very fortunate he was to be in her capable hands of special care. What could have been a miserable, painful experience was transformed into the most pleasant stay possible, considering his circumstances.
She is a wonderful person and a valuable asset for Dignity Health, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Hang onto her, she is a real treasure! Thank you Marion for everything. We are sincerely grateful.
