What impressed me is that when she came in she asked several questions out of her curiosity instead of just going along.
Maru was in on my 1st night. I had difficulty emptying my bladder after the baby was delivered. I kept feeling not fully emptied out. I communicated this to the nurse. I went to the bathroom almost every 2 hours. Then at night when Maru came in, she asked several questions. She checked my belly with her hand and asked how I did with the urination. She suggested another bladder scan. The scan showed that I had urine retained. So Maru asked me to go to the bathroom and asked me to sit there for a while with the water running. No one has told me this trick and it worked. What impressed me is that when she came in she asked several questions out of her curiosity instead of just going along. She suggested things to check first to validate what she thinks it is instead of just telling me “Um, your bladder feels full”. This would have made me worry way more. The whole Sunday, none of the other nurses checked me physically on my belly to see what was going on. Maru saved me from further complications and patiently worked through the issue with me. Her service and knowledge were by far the best I have encountered. She consistently did this throughout my stay. Her curiosity and care for patients are excellent. She went above and beyond her duty by making sure she understood all of the circumstances and not assuming what was handed over to her. She is an exemplary nurse.
