I have been with my Father, advocating for him full time for the last 2 1/2 months. Our stays have included St. Luke's, Mercy Des Moines, and Mercy Sioux City. Without compare, Marissa has been the best nurse we have encountered. She has been amazingly compassionate and responsive to all of my fathers' needs. She has gone way above and beyond her job description. I feel she is a partner in helping me to make sure that my Dad is given the best care possible. She is professional and accurate but even more impressive she is personable, concerning, and engaged actively in helping with all requests and concerns. I trust my Father's care to Marissa, knowing she will be as responsive as humanly possible. She is one of the best nurses I've encountered in our extensive hospital experiences over the last 3 months.
I asked Marissa why certain medications on my Dad's home list were not being given to him. She contacted the Doctor to find out. Whenever I was unable to be in the room when one of the Doctors came, she would ask the Doctor questions that she knew I would want to know the answers to. Marissa shows great kindness, concerns, and compassion beyond compare.
