...Marlene established a special connection with our daughter, who was lonely, by promising to keep her company and comfortable overnight. Marlene became a "big sister" to our child even though she did not know her very long. By her going beyond the call of duty, we were able to go home for much needed rest. Marlene has been superb and should be nominated because of her positive attitude and 120% effort.

The department leadership team also recognizes Marlene for her positive attitude and generous spirit that reflects in all of her professional roles on 8C including charge nurse, preceptor, direct care provider, and Patient Care Council representative. "She is all about quality patient care and making sure everyone has what they need to do their job" says her Director, Jessica Jones. Marlene recently achieved her specialty certification in Pediatric Nursing (CPN). She is a "quiet hero" on 8C and it is evident why Marlene deserves this award!
