Marlene has always been a nurse I've looked up to. On a particular night around midnight, Marlene was taking care of a patient diagnosed with a TIA. The patient had initial symptoms of minor weakness on the right side of his body. Over the next hour, Marlene noticed subtle changes anybody could have missed. She had requested for a Rapid Response to be called for immediate imaging and intervention. The patient's neuro symptoms became worse over the next hour with important radiology results already done. If it wasn't for the urgency that Marlene demonstrated this patient would have had a stroke that may have been missed during the night and left without intervention. She saved a life on that night.
