Martha is one of the most compassionate and caring RN's that I have had the pleasure of working with. When one of the patients on our unit was sad and depressed, Martha was there for her. This patient was in the military and was stationed in Jacksonville away from her home and family. The patient's friends were having a Superbowl party and she couldn't attend. Her mother was in Arizona and unable to come visit. Martha wanted to cheer the patient up a little so she called all the local restaurants to see if any would deliver some BBQ and the patient's favorite macaroni and cheese. The food was delivered, and Martha paid for the food from her own pocket. The patient was so happy and excited that someone was thinking of her.
