Mary Ann Foley-Mayer is nominated for the Daisy Award for the quality of her work with patients, families and co-workers and because she always goes above and beyond. She has been an employee of Saint Peter's for 22 years, starting as a Critical Care Clinical Specialist in the Education Department. Mary Ann then returned to school to become a psychiatric clinical specialist and has been a resource for psychiatric care of patients for many years. Her tremendous support through education of staff, patients and employees is exemplary. She works closely with physicians who are consultants. She always has been a warm and giving person who takes the time to listen to anyone who wants to talk. There are many programs that she has given on all kinds of topics. When she does an admission of a patient with psychiatric issues on the units, she does everthing she can to set up an appropriate plan of care. She is brought in for any coping issues with the death of patients and employess, as the need arises. Mary Ann always knows the appropriate resources.
