Whenever I encounter Mary, she speaks about her patients in a way that it sounds like she is talking about her family member. She has a warm, gentle and kind personality. I spoke to her once about how her day was going and she told me that she felt like she was meant to work in that quad because of this one patient that was on hospice. Although the patient was declining, she was able to get to know the patient's wife and to console her during that extremely difficult time. I believe she also had the chance to pray with the patient's wife. I admire how Mary views her job as an RN as a new opportunity each day to serve patients and their families. She has been working on the 7th floor for many years and by the way she speaks to everyone she encounters, it is very apparent that she enjoys her job.
