Mary was my nurse during a difficult time, as I had entered the behavioral health unit with suicidal thoughts. I am so grateful Mary was my nurse. I had agreed to be discharged the following day; however, later that day I broke down in tears and went to Mary to discuss my concerns. She dropped everything she was doing to help me. She listened, as I shared my fears and concerns and she called the doctor, on my behalf, to keep me another day.
Being in the mental health unit can be scary while leaving you feeling utterly hopeless with no control, but with Mary, I felt safe. I knew I needed to be there and thanks to Mary, the hospital didn't seem like such a cold and scary place. I am so pleased with the care I received from Mary and I feel much less apprehensive about the possibility of returning to the hospital should I ever need to.
