Jamie truly exemplifies the meaning of compassionate care. I have witnessed her care and interactions with many patients, but this event speaks out to me.
This week, Jamie came in on her day off to ensure a peaceful transfer of a patient to an ALF. This patient has schizophrenia, has a history of being difficult to care for but Jamie bonded with this patient during his extended stay and often split her assignment to care for this him due to the way they could interact with each other.
The day of his transfer she was so patient, smiling and gently guiding him toward the event of the transfer. I could tell that she cared for this gentleman as a person not only as a patient. He always responded to her easy manner and I truly feel she could probably talk him into anything with the compassionate way she spoke and interacted with him.
Jamie is a true asset to her team and I am proud to call her a colleague. Her willingness to go above and beyond the "call of duty" speaks to the type of person Jamie truly is at heart.
