Mary Lee is an outstanding role model in the care and concern she has for patients. Her leadership in improving Infection Control practice at our hospital is truly amazing. She serves as a leader mentor and supporter for every nurse at Baptist Health Paducah.
Mary Lee is known for enthusiasm, energy and "teaching moments." She works with our staff daily in transforming care on our unit and throughout the hospital. She approaches issues of non-compliance with concern and teaching opportunities. She wants the staff member to know the correct way, but more importantly, understand what the implications are for the patient. She has been instrumental in the formation of our HAI team, which is comprised of directors, educators, and staff nurses from all areas of our hospital. The engagement of staff in improving our practice has reduced infection rates throughout our hospitals. Several of our Nursing Departments have gone one and two years without a CAUTI or CLABSI.
Mary Lee is an invaluable resource for our nursing staff. She is quick to respond to questions and will assist any nurse in talking with a patient. She excels in praising others and makes you feel valued for your hard work. She is a humble person and when she is paid a compliment she will quickly return it to a staff and/or a particular unit.
She is eager and ready to help celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments. I cannot accurately describe what an exemplary role model she is. She is an immeasurable asset. She is a strong resource and leader. She is relentless. She inspires others to join her relentless commitment and undying perseverance to improvement.
We all feel honored to work with Mary Lee. She is a true champion for the safety of our patients. Through her leadership and engagement of physicians and staff, our hospital is a safer environment for the patients and families we are privileged to serve.
