It was planned for me to be induced. My son's heart rate was dropping with every contraction, so I was rushed to do an emergency C-section. This was scary for me as my first son was a vaginal delivery, and I didn't know what to expect. It was definitely a lot harder for me to move around as this recovery takes longer. Mary made my fiancé, and I feel very calm and relaxed when she came into the room. She was very soothing and gentle with her words and checked up on us. When she checked the vitals on my son and me, she double-checked to make sure we had everything we needed. She cleaned up the room a bit for us to make sure everything was a calm and relaxed setting. She took our son for a few hours to the nursery and kept an eye on him while we caught up on sleep. With my first son, I never had that experience (he was born at a different hospital.) All the nurses we had were great, and we are thankful for them all! Mary will always be the nurse that I brag about when it comes to talking about my experience at Dickinson.
