Mary Pat Eble has worked in the BICU/PICU for over 20 years. She has always demonstrated excellent critical care skills. In the last several years the BICU started a Best Practice Green Committee with Mary Pat taking the lead. She spent almost 2 years working with a pharmacist at the UW designing a pharmaceutical wasting program that was going to be trialed in the BICU at HMC.

This was successful and now we are in the final stages before taking it Housewide then University wide. She didn’t stop there, moving onto other Green processes like Co-mingling vs garbage use in the ICU again working with HMC and the vender who was going to be providing us with the pickup process. We are currently looking at pediatric products containing harmful elements like BPA and DEHP. She just continues to move us forward for both the staff, patient, families, hospital and environment looking at all opportunities to "GO GREEN: and boy have we ever!!!!! Mary Pat has worked tirelessly and has incredible passion for this iniative.
