I came to the E.R. on Friday evening after I had been drinking (to numb my chronic pain). I was feeling very depressed, in pain, and at a loss at what to do to get back on track with everyday life. I'm in pain 24-7. Nurse Mary changed my life completely. She helped me snap out of the rut I was feeling and take action towards getting back on track with being myself again. It was with her kindness, patience, words of wisdom, non-judging, and most of all CARING ways that helped me feel safe and cared for. For the first time I actually felt like I was being heard, truly heard. Nurse Mary listened. She worded things in a way that when I heard it, it clicked! I feel like all things happen for a reason and Nurse Mary Harting was the angel/nurse I needed to help me. My entire experience at UnityPoint Health - Meriter E.R. was amazing. If ever I feel that low/desperate again I know where I can go to be cared for. I haven't had a drink since that day. Nurse Mary truly is a DAISY Nurse. I'm only one person, but a person whom Nurse Mary helped more than words can express.
