Maryanne Cabelin Guzman stands out not only as an amazing nurse in her department, always going above and beyond, but mainly for the following reason: All the telemetry units were full and at capacity one day. Maryanne knew how much we needed the Tele beds as our ED department had been extremely full. She was not only able to move out several of her patients to Med Surg Units but was able to help with Pharmacy medication pick-ups and contact family to help with Rides. She was in constant communication with all team members (MD, Pharmacy, PCC, etc.)

She said one thing that stood out in my mind. Maryanne said, "I know how it feels to be on the other side. When my Mom was in the ED and a patient there, I never forgot how important it was to have these beds open for our members to decrease their wait time in the ED." This is just one of the many wonderful things that Maryanne does daily when she is on duty.
