Mason also created a collection of photos for us and put them together in a photo album for us that we took with us when he graduated from the NICU.
Our Son was born 12 weeks early and had a 13-week stay in the NICU. No one can prepare you for that sort of thing. Mason was declared his primary nurse early on in our stay and right away we knew he was in good hands. Throughout our stay, Mason kept us up to date on all of O's progress, always with a sense of positivity that was infectious. Even though it was by far the scariest time of my life, with so many unknowns, highs, and lows along the way Mason always acted as an advocate and caretaker for O. On top of his typical nurse duties, he would spend extra time with O. Giving him extra cuddles and love, something we are forever grateful for as we couldn't be at the hospital 24/7. Mason also created a collection of photos for us and put them together in a photo album for us that we took with us when he graduated from the NICU. Each time Mason worked, a photo would be added and it was so great coming in and seeing the new photo. He was able to give us back some of the moments we missed by not being able to be together again, something we are forever grateful for. All of our NICU nurses were great but the love Mason poured into caring for O was immeasurable. O is finally home with us but Mason will forever be a part of our journey, O's honorary Uncle.
