I would like for it to be known that Matt took me by surprise when he, on his own, began advocating for my psych meds to be brought on-board ASAP due to my already being off of them since my surgery. It was about five days that I was without them due to my condition. I watched as Matt would not let this matter go until the doctor and nurse got on the "same page."
Matt was very professional when addressing this issue. I felt really good having him advocating for me. He shared his concerns and some knowledge he has about mental illness. Matt is stigma free; I can tell he is knowledgeable to a degree about mental illness.
This is what we continue to campaign about—removing the stigma and education. Matt's actions meant the world to me. He gave me hope.
