Matthew Jester stepped in to help my nurse on what was arguably the hardest day of my life. I was 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant when I lost my daughter. Matthew saw me in an emotional state and came in to offer support. He did everything in his power to ease my pain, speaking to me as though he wasn’t busy and didn’t have other patients to care for. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand how demanding his day must have been, yet he took the time to bring tissues and ensure that both my husband and I were okay. His kindness and compassion on that difficult day are something I will never forget. I hope Matthew gets to see this and is recognized for what an incredible nurse he is. I’m applying to nursing school in January, and I aspire to be the kind of nurse that he was for me.
