Maureen is one of the hardest-working people I know. Her work ethic is like no other. She will do her work and yours if you let her. She is always there to lend a helping hand to set up your room, give you a break, she will even help you get your steps in when you need some self-care. Maureen also holds others accountable to her work ethic but I always tell her everyone is not cracked from the same mold and you must accept that. Maureen "Leads by example." If you don't know how to work hard, Maureen will show you. She does not expect you to do anything she would not do herself. Maureen has been a staff nurse, an assistant nurse manager, charge nurse, OR secretary substitute, and whatever else in between. Regardless of her title of the day, you may find her in an OR case, cleaning a room with EVS for a quicker turnover, filling in for someone who is showing up late to work, throwing herself in an OR room unexpectedly if the need arises, in a room while also holding the charge phone and the list goes on. She will often say, "I Lead by example," and she truly does.
