With his many years of experience, he has provided safe, effective anesthesia care across a diverse range of surgical procedures. His clinical judgment and ability to respond to complex situations ensure that patients receive the highest level of care.
Max is a natural leader, he has integrity, is consistent in his actions, puts his staff first over his own needs. He is a good listener and communicator and is open to suggestions. He has a great sense of humor and keeps the morale high even in challenging times.

Max is an incredible leader, mentor, and friend. He goes above and beyond for his team here at Methodist. Max truly cares about every teammate as an individual and exudes integrity. Our department enjoys coming to work every day because of the family-like environment that he has cultivated. He puts his staff first and never minds being the last one here if it means someone else will get out on time. As for patient care, he is always willing and ready to help. He jumps into assignments without hesitation and shows compassion towards both patients and family members. His clinical skills are exceptional. Max is, frankly, the best manager that I have ever worked for, and I think that it is about time that he received this special recognition.

Max welcomed me to Jefferson Methodist Hospital in May of this year after a transfer from Center City. He is constantly challenging the status quo with transformative ideas for our department, encouraging each member of our department to be the best version of themselves inside and outside of the operating room. He prioritizes our well-being, work-life balance and the advancement of our careers. I couldn't think of a better person for this award. Max is the true definition of a leader, and I wouldn't want anyone else as my chief CRNA!

Max is such an incredible leader in our department. Max delivers extraordinary care to our patients, and he is extremely knowledgeable, making him one of the best resources in our department. Not only does Max go over and above for our patients, but he also shows his staff the same courtesy and dedication. I am so fortunate to know and work alongside Max.

Max goes above and beyond for this department. His leadership style allows this department to run smoothly while still prioritizing work/ life balance. He will take extra call shifts and come in on days off so the rest of the department can get time with our families. All the while, he does it with a smile and never complains. His leadership makes Methodist Anesthesia a great place to work.
***
Max is an excellent practitioner and the best manager I have ever worked with. He is always available to lend his expertise and problem-solving to any situation, big or small. He truly makes the department a great place to work.

I am pleased to nominate Maxfield High for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in recognition of their exceptional contributions to patient care, leadership, and innovation in the field of nurse anesthesia.
Max is an expert clinician who has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and knowledge. With his many years of experience, he has provided safe, effective anesthesia care across a diverse range of surgical procedures. His clinical judgment and ability to respond to complex situations ensure that patients receive the highest level of care. I have witnessed Max perform lifesaving measures on critically ill patients, demonstrating not only his clinical expertise but also his unwavering dedication to patient care. In high-pressure situations, Max remains calm and focused, utilizing his extensive knowledge to make swift, effective decisions that have directly contributed to patient survival and recovery.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Max is dedicated to education and mentorship. He actively trains and supports new nurse anesthetists, sharing his insights and fostering a collaborative learning environment. His commitment to professional development has not only enhanced the skills of his colleagues but has also improved the overall performance of our anesthesia team. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly recommend Max for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. He embodies the values of our profession and exemplifies the leadership qualities we strive to recognize. I truly cannot think of anyone more deserving of this honor.

Max is an amazing chief CRNA who values our personal and professional lives. He takes the time to support us in every aspect of our careers. He is a genuine leader and truly deserves to be recognized.
***
Max has taken on an extremely challenging role in Anesthesia. He is the coordinator of the department and has integrated our call system, vacation system, and operating room assignment system into our electronic applications. He has hired and flexed CRNAs and managed to accommodate extremely unpredictable, challenging schedules virtually 100% of the time for years. That is an exceptional ask. He has provided continuous communication as liaison with center city campus, Dr. Michael Green and John Madison CRNA leader in Enterprise and integrated our CRNA staff (pending availability) with their needs. He has navigated a complex relationship with center city and Enterprise leaders. Max guides our daily operating room flow and ensures that FCOTs and room turnover are one of best in Enterprise. Max has prioritized our relationship with our critical care staff and created a consistent system for continuity of care and patient hand off. He has spearheaded education of critical care fellows to expedite their airway management credentials.
Lastly, Maxfield is an outstanding provider and clinically capable of handling any situation, no matter how complex, in a reassuring and professional manner. He has mentored many of the newest SRNA students from Jefferson and attracted them to pursue a career at our Methodist campus. He has attracted much new talent and mentored a relatively new department assistant coordinator. Maxfield is my MVP!!
