As soon as I met McKenna, I instantly felt at ease with her calm and encouraging demeanor.
As a first-time mom and someone who deals with anxiety, I was a bit overwhelmed as I navigated my postpartum experience. As soon as I met McKenna, I instantly felt at ease with her calm and encouraging demeanor. She was so patient with me, my husband and my baby. Answering questions, offering suggestions, and providing assistance with everything from swaddling, breastfeeding, diaper changes and general caretaking.
McKenna validated my feelings -- All of them! -- and empowered me to make decisions by providing me with pros and cons of each side. She even was the first to hear our son's name, Henry, once we had decided on it. While all of the other nurses were absolutely lovely and helpful, I was sad when Mckenna's shift ended, and we weren't assigned her again during our stay. It's been four months, but I still remember how great she was at her job and as a person in general. Thank you, McKenna!
