Megan was first my nurse in labor and delivery. She was very thorough and made sure I always knew what was happening and why. She took the time to explain different steps and why those were the ones we were taking. She made me feel so comfortable during the laboring process almost like she was a friend there to support me. When I moved over to the postpartum mother/baby unit I was so excited to find that Megan was my nurse the next day. Again, she did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable and was just a click away if we needed anything. What stood out to me the most though was during my discharge discussion. Megan looked at me with such compassion for a newly postpartum mom and told me it’s okay not to be okay. She emphasized taking the time I need for myself to make sure I’m okay and my babies. She told me not to be afraid to ask for help and made sure to go over the signs to look for in me postpartum with my husband and how to get me help if needed. Megan is a special nurse and I’m so lucky she was a part of bringing my daughter into the world.
