She has made a challenging task seem manageable for the team members. She always says you are already doing the work; now give yourself the well-deserved credit for it.
One of Megan's best qualities is her passion for professional development. I am not referring to just her own professional development but instead the development of others. She is the reason why I tested for my first certification. She said if we are going to expect the nurses to do it, then we need to be good role models. I have been so thankful for that push ever since.
Megan is an amazing motivator and mentor for certifications and ExCEL at Good Sam. The amount of ExCEL applications alone has gone up tremendously due to her mentorship of older new graduates and experienced nurses. She gives team members the confidence and what they need to be successful. She has helped quite a few with their Level A projects and shown them that they can be capable of anything, no matter how intimidating it may be. She is always available to the team members, especially when they are stuck and just need another point. She works closely with them to brainstorm ways to accomplish the workbooks. She is available to find resources for any certification. She goes above and beyond for Med Surg by hosting review courses twice a year and sending out tons of helpful resources to ensure the team member’s success. She is willing to help anyone with reimbursement which can be complicated the first time you do it. She helps the team members to get through the scarier parts so that they can push themselves to get certified. She also holds the team members accountable by setting expectations for registering and picking dates for the test. She is their cheerleader and has contributed to many team members’ successful certifications.
