I have had the pleasure of working alongside Megan Laverty, both in the inpatient setting at MGH and now at Home Hospital. Megan has such a caring demeanor with each patient she encounters. She is able to develop rapport effortlessly with patients/families despite the circumstances with individuals with end-stage disease or even a new diagnosis. We worked together with a patient who had multiple new diagnoses and medications, she took such time educating the patient. On the day of discharge, Megan was thorough and went above and beyond to help the patient attempt to set up an account for rides to get to appointments/pharmacies. Due to an issue with the patient's vision, she took extra time to ensure the patient knew his discharge instructions despite this barrier. Megan is truly an asset to our team. Her extra dedication on the day of discharge with this individual patient was so impactful!
