Meg’s kindness and genuine concern for her patients extend beyond her professional duties.
I am writing to highly recommend Nurse Meg for her exceptional care and dedication to her patients, particularly my mother. Over the past two months, my 79-year-old mother has been in and out of the ER, ICU, inpatient hospital, physical therapy, and outpatient care across multiple facilities, including St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, CentraCare in St. Cloud, Bethany Good Samaritan in Brainerd, St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, and Miller-Dwan PT.

During this challenging period, my mother suffered from five strokes/brain bleeds, underwent two brain surgeries, had one angiogram, had a procedure to remove 8-10 blood clots from her lungs and heart, and experienced a seizure. We have had well over 100 nurses during this time, so this nomination carries a lot of weight! Throughout this tumultuous journey, Nurse Meg was a beacon of light, hope, and support. Her super personable nature and the respect she commands from both patients and colleagues are truly remarkable.

While we were under her care, one doctor even said she was the best ICU nurse. It speaks volumes about her character that she goes out of her way to nominate a colleague for an award that she deserves. (a previous DAISY Award Honoree!). Meg’s ability to explain complex medical information clearly and concisely to my 81-year-old father and me has been invaluable. She consistently advocates for her patients, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed by the doctors. Her attentiveness during doctor visits, where she meticulously notes the directions given, showcases her dedication to providing the best possible care.

Moreover, her effective communication skills and thorough understanding of her job duties are evident in her flawless execution of responsibilities. It’s my understanding that she is well-known for her “Sunday Spa Day” treatment of patients. When you are sick, there is nothing better than feeling fresh and clean! Meg’s kindness and genuine concern for her patients extend beyond her professional duties. She often went above and beyond, offering emotional support and encouragement to both my mother and our family during this very challenging time. Her compassionate nature and positive attitude made a profound difference in our lives.

In summary, Meg is an outstanding healthcare professional who embodies the qualities of an exemplary nurse. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication make her an invaluable asset to any medical team.
