Mel was an incredible nurse during our time here. My husband had already been in ICU and was improving.  

One night, he took a turn for the worse and needed to have an NG tube and constant monitoring. Mel was supportive of me as his wife. So kind, compassionate, and comforting.  She stayed past her time to leave to care for him and advocated on his behalf for going to the ICU because she could see him declining compared to how she had seen him in the previous days. 

She administered the NG tube, and he didn't have any pain from it at all. When we were leaving for ICU, she hugged me and encouraged me. Upon seeing her later after leaving the ICU, she told me she had prayed for my husband her whole drive home and was so relieved that he was okay.
