I came into labor and delivery after already being in labor for almost 2 hours. By the time I got to labor and delivery, I was already in so much pain and struggling with handling it. Melissa came in and introduced herself, and immediately got to work, calming me down. She gave off a "mom" caring that made me feel so calm and safe during my labor. She held me as the contractions got worse and talked to me the whole time. I got an epidural to keep my mind off the pain I was going through, so I could stay still. During the pushing, she counted down and breathed with me, making it very easy to get my daughter out in only 3 pushes. After delivery, she made sure my daughter and I were comfortable. Once I was able to walk, she helped me clean up in the bathroom and got me dressed, not making it awkward at all as I imagined it to be. This was my fourth time having a baby in your hospital, and the only time I felt so well taken care of and comfortable the whole time. Melissa truly is a God-sent human being full of love and compassion for her job and the patients she is taking care of. Without the help of Melissa, my labor to a 10 lb. baby would have been unbearable, and I do not think I could have done it.
