Melissa has been our favorite nurse in helping to care for my father-in-law during his long stay in ICU. She has gone above and beyond not only in the excellent care she provides for him but as well as the care and compassion she has shown our family during this difficult time. She is always willing to help in any way that we may need, took the time to learn which channels and TV shows my father-in-law prefers, and making sure that my mother-in-law is comfortable during the countless hours she has been by his side. She has been knowledgeable and informative about his care and condition. She explains things in a way that we can understand. She has provided comfort during the hard days and understanding when my father-in-law isn't the easiest patient to care for. While being honest about the status of his condition, she still provided hope and compassion. She has been more than just a nurse to our family. Every time we see she is the one on rotation, weimmediately feel at ease and we are so thankful for everything she has done for our family and our patient.
