Melissa Frederick is one of our valuable Patient Educator RNs. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, she supports our breastfeeding couples in our lactation clinic, known as Great Starts. In order to support breastfeeding and transitioning back to work, Melissa started a local breastfeeding support group, that is open to our members and the community as well. We have about 9 mothers come each week. This has created a community of support for our families that is felt long after their infants are grown. Melissa took on the task of creating a rotating agenda and getting guest speakers to talk on subjects such as caring for a sick infant and childhood immunization.
