Melissa has consistently shown traits of the values Mercy holds so dear. There is not a day goes by that you don't see Melissa with a smile on her face, whether it is listening to her patients or dealing with a challenging situation. Melissa is truly here for the right reasons and has that contagious personality that makes everyone want to do better. Yesterday Melissa was discharging her patient and instead of calling for an escort to take them down, decided to do it herself. Her patient needed to stop by the pharmacy, and once down there her patient discovered they didn't have enough money to pick up their prescription. Melissa ran all the way back up to the 6th floor and grabbed some money and paid for her patients' medication so they would not be without. By doing this Melissa showed justice by being concerned for her patient and wanting to make sure she had her medication, so she paid for them. Melissa provided service by putting her patient's needs first and escorting her to her vehicle. Melissa showed stewardship by not delaying this patients' discharge because they couldn't afford their medication. This is all proof of excellence and is only one example of what she does on a daily basis.
