Melissa Garcia is so understanding, supportive and calm under pressure. When we are struggling or we need help with our patients she seems to always know when to show up! She helps each one of us become a better nurse by setting high standards and helping us achieve them with guidance and feedback and a sprinkle of love.

Melissa leads by example and is always willing to jump in to help, she is more than a team player she will get down and dirty. One colleague said, “She’s passionate and hardworking, straight forward and clear in her words and actions, but just a funny, kind person at the same time.”

When I was a new grad, Melissa came out and said congratulations. She then clearly set the standard and from that day on I knew what professionalism and pride in excellent care meant.
One of our ER doctors said she is a fantastic nurse. She knows how to take charge in the department and how to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Melissa has great communication skills with staff and families and has resolved countless tough issues. Another added, “She knows when to be a friend, when to be a colleague and when to be a leader. There’s a good balance on all fronts.”

Still another physician said, “She leads with integrity, has genuine intentions and really listens to the needs of our patients and the staff.”

We rely on Melissa to guide us, love us and push us through tough nights. She has the love of a mother for our team but most of all she loves the patients and makes sure that they are given excellent care!
