To call the nurses on the Family Birthing Unit exceptional would be considered an understatement.
Mom & baby were patients and for all the fabulous care that we had in our six days, Melody was a head above the rest. Melody came in, and during report from the day nurse, she stepped in to help Mom breastfeed our son, which had been a struggle to that point.
Melody was patient, confident, and honest. She talked us through the upcoming tests for our son who was born four weeks early. Melody also gave great care to Mom helping her wash up and feel human again even though she was still stuck in bed and on Magnesium overnight. She also gave advice to Dad for helping from the dad's perspective.
She answered all of our questions thoroughly. As new parents, we were worried about our son, but Wednesday night forward, we felt so much better because of the care we received from Melody. Even simple things like getting us cookies while Mom breastfed was her way of putting personal touches on her care for us.
Melody is a terrific nurse and person!
