My husband was brought into the ER in full cardiac arrest. I entered through the ambulance bay. I stood aside while the staff worked on him. I was approached by Mercedes. Mercedes asked if I would like to be with my husband. I was allowed to hold his hand and talk to him as the staff administered CPR. The doctor and staff did their best but my sweet husband passed away. Mercedes was so much comfort to my family and me. I was so touched by her compassion. Mercedes left and returned with two test tubes that contained my husband's heart rhythm strip of his last heartbeat. She also made three more so my children and grandchildren could also have one. This has touched me to my very soul. Mercedes did not rush us out and returned several times to check on us. Mercedes was my angel on the worst day of my life. She will carry a special place in my heart forever.
