Michelle’s cheer and ability to get me to laugh and joke around quite literally saved my life.
Michelle was my first nurse when I came into my room and immediately made me feel comfortable and cared for. She was able to keep my spirits up throughout my five-day stay at Advocate, which was no small task towards the end. Truth be told, I was terrified the entire time that I had done irreparable damage to my body. I didn’t think I had a future ahead of me, or if I was even going to make it out of the hospital. Michelle’s cheer and ability to get me to laugh and joke around quite literally saved my life by showing me that kindness can come from complete strangers when you might need it most. She went to bat for me amidst lots of confusion between doctors and constantly checked in to make sure I was okay when my heart would start racing. Michelle, you saved my life. Thank you.
