Michelle is a nurse who leads with respect for her colleagues and with compassion for her patients. She is flexible and has rotated to night duties when the unit is strained for nurses with specialized training or as charge. She cares for patients of all ages and with different diagnosis including transplants, spinal cord injury, immunocompromised, TBIs, stroke and patients on different devices including vents and VADs. She has assumed the charge role and provides some calmness on very busy days in the unit.
She shares her expertise with staff and has mentored students and new nurses on the unit. She was charge RN on a very difficult and emotional day not commonly seen on the unit. She coordinated the situation with calmness and provided necessary information and direction to those involved until the situation was under control. She represents 8N in the Staffing Council/Magnet duties. She is appreciated by her peers, staff, and patients in the rehab unit.

Michelle is an outstanding charge nurse. She frequently picks up admissions so other nurses do not get overwhelmed while managing her charge duties. She continuously tried to help solve problems for the staff.
