Her vibrant and warm personality is calming and reassuring. From my first interaction with Michelle, I knew she was the "right" type of human.
My grandmother suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was put in the ICU at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Her initial days were very scary, dealing with the unknown, etc. She immediately lost all ability to speak and communicate, and her cognitive function was gone in a matter of seconds. In the end, we received the news that we would not be able to save her, and we had to make the decision to place her on comfort care. My grandmother was an extremely healthy, active, happy woman who had no health issues; the decision to choose comfort care was not easy.
Sometimes you meet someone and before you even know their name, before you know anything about them at all, you get the feeling that this person is special, that they will mean something bigger to you. Michelle has the ability to light up even the darkest room. Her vibrant and warm personality is calming and reassuring. From my first interaction with Michelle, I knew she was the "right" type of human. She is compassionate and kind; her words are genuine, her smile heartwarming, and she is all around the type of person you want to have the pleasure of knowing.
On my grandmother's last day, Michelle was supposed to be done with her shift at 7:00PM. After a long, what I can only imagine to be a stressful day, Michelle clocked out and chose to spend the remainder of her evening with our family at the hospital. She allowed us to leave the room, gather our thoughts, take a breath of fresh air, and be at peace with our reality. Michelle sat by my grandmother's bedside for hours, speaking to her, playing her favorite songs, and gently playing with her hair. I'm not sure there are many people left in this world who would go above and beyond the way that Michelle did for our family. In the end, thank you will never be enough. Thank you, Michelle, for being the best type of person; we will never forget the love you showed us.
