Michelle is a passionate critical care nurse who always goes above and beyond for her patients and families. She fiercely advocates for her patients.

E: Empathy

I have witnessed Michelle’s capacity for empathy time and time again. Today, I witnessed Michelle sitting at the bedside with a patient’s wife following his admission to the ICU. The patient had experienced a PEA Cardiac Arrest while at a family picnic. The patient arrested after entering the family's pool while playing with his grandchildren. The family recused him from the water and immediately started CPR. Michelle went the extra mile to empathize with the patient’s wife and provide the emotional support so desperately needed.

T: Trust

Michelle practices critical care nursing with the highest level of integrity and is always a team player. She is the first one to help out another teammate who is busy during their shift with new admissions.

A: Admirable

Michelle comes to work every day with a "Can do!" attitude. She is always positive and uplifting and making her teammates laugh. Michelle promotes positive team culture and is an excellent teammate.

L: Love

You only have to work with Michelle for a short time to observe the love she has for her career and her patients/families. She treats every single patient as an individual and never fails to see the human lying in the bed. Michelle doesn't just check boxes off during her shift; she displays great empathy and compassion for every patient and family member she comes in contact with.

S: Selflessness

Michelle displays selflessness by being reliable to her team and always flexible in the ever changing fast paced environment in the ICU. She steps up to the challenge every day and never complains.
