Michelle always exemplifies what being a great nurse is and I know having had over 150+ admissions to the hospital in the last 5 years. However, an incident that occurred recently really showed Michelle true dedication and compassion to her patients.
There was a life threatening breathing problem that came on suddenly and had potentially drastic results. Michelle didn't even need to be called but showed up at my room with all available medications listed in my record that would take care of the issue. After administering the medication, Michelle immediately called RT and after they had not arrived 10 minutes later, called back and expressed the need for them to be at my bedside. She stayed on the phone until they came. Following RT treatment, Michelle then personally took me down for a Stat CT and stayed with me for close to an hour. Upon returning she provided the things needed for my care. Michelle's actions in this scenario truly exemplify what it means to be a 'nurse' and to care for others.
Above and beyond her doing her job; Michelle was truly kind, compassionate, caring and honesty cared about my wellbeing. Michelle is everything and more than a DAISY and deserves such recognition.
Thanks Michelle we will never forget what you did for us that night.
