Our daughter had a cleft palate repair surgery performed today, and upon being brought back to see our daughter post-op, it was apparent that Michelle was an Extraordinary Nurse. She was at our daughter’s bedside, ensuring she was comfortable and stable. She thoroughly explained everything and ensured we understood everything that was going on. She ensured our daughter’s pain was controlled very quickly. She was very supportive of us (my wife and I), snuggling and comforting our daughter. What stood out the most to us was that Michelle made it feel like she was there to help us and our daughter in any way she could. She listened to every concern and answered every question of ours. Michelle didn’t leave our daughter’s room from the time we arrived until she personally transported our daughter and escorted us to the floor where we’d stay for the remainder of our hospital course. It truly felt like Michelle was ensuring the care was personalized and personal to her. Michelle is an amazing patient advocate, ensuring patients and parents are comfortable, contacting the appropriate resources for our daughter, and personally walking us upstairs to ensure our needs are met and we are settled in. Michelle truly embodies what it means to be a healthcare provider and a caretaker. She is absolutely outstanding. During an otherwise extremely upsetting and nerve-wracking situation, Michelle was everything we could ask for and more.
