First, I would like to congratulate our DAISY Award honoree – Michelle Johnson, RN, who has worked for GH for 11 years. Let me share the nominations that were submitted by three people:

Nomination #1:  “On the day of my mother’s surgery to remove her breast cancer, Michelle Johnson was there to welcome us. She went beyond to make all of us feel so welcomed and loved. Michelle was so excited that we had a team there to support my mom. What she does not know is that our dad died of cancer when T was just 10. My mom is our world. Michelle took the ease off all of us today. She showed us around and gave us extra seats. She kept everyone laughing and in good spirits. I watched her provide amazing care to my mom and our entire family. Michelle made it a pleasure to get to be at the hospital. She remembered our names and introduced us to everyone as they entered. I am a nurse of 17 years and expect a high level of care, but Mrs. Johnson exceeded that. We are beyond grateful for all she did for us and our mother.”

Nomination #2:  Thank you, Michelle! “You made myself and my family feel so comfortable when we were worried about my mom’s surgery. You are the kindest nurse I have ever met. You are a wonderful nurse; you made my mom feel extremely comfortable on the day of her surgery. Thank you for being you! God bless you!”

Nomination #3: “Michelle was my mom’s nurse for her breast surgery. She was amazing and went above and beyond for my family!” Thank you Michelle Johnson for making a difference in this patient and family experience!
