Mikaela’s genuine empathy shone through in the way she advocated for my wife’s comfort and well-being, not only in medical matters but in the emotional support she provided as well.
It is with great enthusiasm that we nominate Mikaela from Labor and Delivery for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care she provided during the birth of our baby girl. E. From the moment we arrived at the L and D unit, Mikaela made us feel at ease and supported. She greeted us with a warm smile and demonstrated professionalism, kindness, and an intuitive understanding of our needs and worries as first-time parents getting ready for the delivery. Her calm and confident demeanor helped create a safe and comforting environment, which was incredibly reassuring for both my wife, and me during a momentous, yet understandably nerve-wracking experience.
Throughout the labor and delivery process, Mikaela went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and informed. She communicated clearly and patiently, taking the time to explain every step of the process and offering encouragement when we needed it. We were deeply grateful for how she tailored her care to meet my wife’s specific needs, always checking in to make sure we understood and were at ease with each decision, whether it was a pain medication, the Foley catheter, or the decision for the epidural. She made an incredibly long and challenging day feel manageable. Her unwavering dedication to her patients, combined with her kindness and expertise, made all the difference in our birth experience. My wife and I are forever grateful for Mikaela’s exceptional care and believe she embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for—compassion, excellence, and a deep commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of her patients. We are so grateful for our baby girl and TGH's wonderful staff in helping her into the world.
Our daughter is our first child and so this is the first time we were ever going through a pregnancy and labor/delivery. Mikaela was a huge, reassuring presence from start to finish. She provided a constant presence of calm and reassurance through what we had come into being very nervous about.
